Freight Policy

Great Western Animal Health Supply INC

VETERINARIAN FREIGHT POLICY

              I.      Freight charges will be calculated as follows:

A.     Customers that purchase at least $1000.00 a month consistently, shipping is free, by common carrier: UPS, Parcel Post, Freightliner, etc.

B.     Customers that purchase under $1000.00 a month consistently will be eligible for a freight allowance on orders over $200.00, up to 5% of the invoice total.

(Example: Invoice was $250.00, you would have $13.00 go toward the cost of shipping the order.)

Exception:  All air shipments fall under the $150.00/5% rule B.

Note:  Upon monthly reviews your shipping status could change based on your monthly purchases.

II.      Customers who are on a C.O.D. status will have the carriers C.O.D. charge added to their invoice.  This charge will be added even where the minimum for prepaid shipping has been met and the actual freight charges are being prepaid.

III.      On drop ship orders any freight charges billed to us by the vendor will be passed on to the customer.

IV.      All reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure that merchandise will arrive in the best possible condition.

           V.      Damage, which occurs in transit, is the responsibility of the transportation company and all claims for breakage or loss in shipping are subject to approval of that carrier.

VI.      Packages should be inspected by the customer upon receipt and should be signed for only after all packages are accounted for and obvious damage is noted and investigated.  We cannot accept claims for short shipments if the freight bill of lading is signed as complete.

VII.      Great Western will act for the customer in filing a freight claim, but no credit can be allowed unless the following procedure is followed:

A.     Great Western must be notified within 48 hours of receipt, of any damages or shortages in shipping.

B.     Evidence of breakage, including packing material and original shipping carton must be held until an agent of the transportation company can inspect it.

C.     The freight bill of lading is signed only after a notation is made of any shortages or obvious damage.

VIII.      Great Western will adjust the customer account as soon as possible after the carrier has approved the freight claim.  Amounts for claims pending will not be considered past due by the credit department but will become due and payable in the event a claim is denied.
